2009 Benchwarmer Championships
Three of the four teams from last year's playoffs return for
another go at it, with Springfield back in the mix again for the first
time since 2006. All of the franchises have won championships,
and Oaxaca comes back as the defending champ.
Mathewson Conference: Springfield (84-66) vs. Boar's Nest (91-59)
Springfield has their fourth division championship this season, but
has only advanced to the finals in the very first season of
Benchwarmer. Boar's Nest comes in on their 7th straight division
title and are the defending conference champs. This is a rematch
of the 2005 series, which Boar's Nest won 4-1.

Johnson Conference: Oaxaca (82-68) vs. Oklahoma (95-55)
This is a rematch of last season's conference finals, won handily
by Oaxaca. But this season Oklahoma comes in as the stronger
team as the franchise tries for its second league title.

BWB CHAMPIONSHIP : Oaxaca vs. Springfield
Oaxaca is the defending league champ, but had some competition this
season until late for winning the division. They won their third
straight conference championship though and look to become the first
team to ever win back-to-back titles in this league. Springfield
was the very first league champion in 2000 and a victory here would be
fitting in the 10th anniversary season for Hall of Fame. It's
almost amazing that 2000 was the only time the Isotopes have appeared
in the final series.
