2008 Benchwarmer Championships

Season one is in the books for the Three of a Kind League and now we're on to the playoff rounds to crown the first champion.  Shenandoah Valley, Saryn, Maryland, and Hudson River vie for a place in Three of a Kind history.

Crawford Conference: Shenandoah Valley (76-74) vs. Saryn (89-61)

Shenandoah Valley came from behind in the final week to beat out Plaza and win the Wagner Division by just 1 game.  The field got closer to Saryn toward the end, but they didn't face much of a late challenge on the way to the top in the Beckley.

Season series: Saryn won 7 games to 5

Saryn Wins in 6 Games

Cobb Conference: Maryland (80-70) vs. Hudson River (93-57)

Both teams had pretty tight races on the way to winning the initial division championships in the Cobb Conference.  On paper, this appears to be Hudson River's series.  They have the top record in the league, plus a whopping 11-1 edge in the season series against Maryland.  But a 7-game series can turn differently than expected - don't count Maryland out.

BWB CHAMPIONSHIP : Saryn vs. Hudson River

The conference championships went basically according to plan - and now two fairly evenly matched teams meet for the league's first title.  They even split their 6 meetings during the regular season.  Saryn is a lock for the Benchwarmer Bash - even as a wild card, but Hudson River needs a win here to advance.
